Counselor’s Close — a Planned Unit Development (PUD) of 51 homes, a 10-minute walk from Merchants Square Gloucester Street, historic Colonial Williamsburg and the William & Mary campus.

Connected townhomes, with a few detached homes as anchors, a green space park in the center and mature landscaping throughout the community. A friendly place to live — small enough that neighbors greet one another and often host “all in” holiday or “just because” gatherings.

The community takes pride in its pristine colonial architecture, its stately trees, that of course challenge our grass growing efforts, its variety of birdsong, squirrel, fox, deer, and bunny sightings. We boast of our residents’ achievements both retired and still in pursuit of growing careers - our youngest aged 4 months and our oldest at 92 years.

We are led by a five-member, community elected Board of Directors who volunteer to serve following Declarations, Bylaws and general rules of good neighborly behavior. By appointment there is an Architectural Review Committee tasked with approval of home improvements such as doors, windows, roof surfaces, porch and deck replacements - all exterior facets of owners’ needs for renovation. Likewise, a Landscaping Review Committee for approval of the homeowners’ desires and the community’s overall safety,  and continuity of appearance.

Counselor’s Close – we call it home!
